If prices are rising, it is by design. A blatant attempt is being made to transfer your money to a chosen few.
As a consequence of poor economy, tax collection is poor and leaves a huge gap between income and expenses of the government. It has to resort to borrowing to fill the gap.
Out of the 45,00,000 Crore budget, the income is less than 80%, rest is borrowing.
And because of this almost everything is being taxed. The high taxes on Petrol, Diesel, Gas are being used to bridge the gap between income and expenses. But these are basic input items and therefore there is increase in prices across the board.
Increased prices are leading to lower consumption of goods and services and this in turn is leading to lower tax collection and still higher prices. The producers have to spend more to produce the same quantity of goods and services. Thus they don’t have any option other than to increase prices of the products and services they produce. The other option is to cut expenses and they are doing that, by reducing the head count (adding to joblessness) and compromising on the product (quality or quantity).
This is a vicious downward spiral. It is by design.
The free ration is to ensure that 80 Crore Indians feel that they are being looked after by the government while they struggle with their income. They don’t realize that their income has been killed by the very same government that is giving them this free ration and that their savings are being destroyed by high taxes and prices. Once again it is not an accident, it is by design.
This is how the government is decimating the economy to remain in control of the population and how it has been immensely successful in making the rich richer and the poor poorer and still appear as a savior of the masses.
It is all by design and if you understand this, then this government has been highly successful in carrying out its designs.
So, the question is how to break this vicious downward spiral?
The answer lies in the informal economy. We have to start going local, buying local, supporting local enterprises rather than buying from organized players which are owned by crony capitalists….
Yes, it will cost you more to deal with local vendors because they don’t have economies of scale but it will ensure that the money remains in local circulation.
Modi had promised 2 Crore jobs every year. By 2024 we should have had 20 Crore new jobs but the reality is that we have almost 2 Crore fewer jobs in 2024 than what we had in 2014!!!
