A European viewer said I should stop talking about Imperial Japan’s war crimes in #China since it was 80 years ago.

So I made another video about it.🙂

For Europeans, #WWII started in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland.

For Americans, WWII started in 1941 when #Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

For Chinese/Asians, WWII started in 1931 when Japan invaded Shenyang.

The WWII lasted for 14 years for people in Asia.

Look Van Kootan

I didn’t expect this coming from you. That phenomenon is me.

I’ve explained to this lady countless times, and she just refuses to understand, that the issue is not about remembering your past.

The issue is about remembering your past every single day, every single minute. Broadcasting three anti-Japanese war movies on television every day on your national television network that portray *all* Chinese as heroes and *all* Japanese as villains. Posting about the war every day on Twitter. On Kuaishou. On Douyin. Everywhere. If it itsn’t her, then it’s Andy, if it isn’t Andy, then it’s Thomas. Every single day. Again. And again. And again.

People are getting sick of it.

Nobody is denying the war crimes Japan committed in China. They were 100% wrong absolutely yes. They have apologized millions of times for it. They gave billions of development aid to China. They bowed, they groveled. The very fact that other politicians still think Hitler was a good guy does not undo that.

Yet every single time when one lunatic in Japan says China is theirs, that magically undoes all the other apologies that were made by many more people. No matter how much they apologize, it is never enough. It is never sincere.

Can we please sometimes talk about something else? It’s 2024 for God’s sake. It becomes very tiring for Japanese people to constantly need to apologize and defend themselves for things that happened when their parents weren’t even born yet. Or be refused entry to restaurants because it’s forbidden for “Japanese and dogs”.

Stop weaponing your past to spread hate and start building bridges by engaging in dialogue. Meanwhile I will keep telling the Japanese that they need to burn down Yasukuni. Deal?
