Atul Subhash death and narratives

Atul Subhash’s suicide was unfortunate and one hopes he gets justice. But for many, especially certain groups, this death has become a reason to attack all women and reject laws meant to protect women.

Listen to this episode of the South Central podcast for perspectives from women who have worked on domestic violence. While they agree that there are issues with the system, and the law is being misused, they believe the hate being unleashed on women now will only compound the problem.

After the show went live, a couple of people told me that we should have had a man on the panel. I have taken that feedback. Do write to me if you have other thoughts.

We also discussed how the drug regulation system in India is broken in the background of the maternal deaths in Karnataka.
